In October I was supposed to be in Uganda to visit our projects and spend time with the over 200 children we are currently feeding, counseling and providing daily needs for. But due to a medical situation (I had a brain tumor, which was removed on Sept 27) I was unable to go to Uganda.
One of my desires for the trip was to have a Celebration for the Children so they would know how very much they are loved by God and that He has NOT forgotten them!
After the surgery I wrote Rose, our director in Gulu, to ask her to go ahead with the Celebration for the Children, since they had been faithfully and fervently praying for me. God heard their prayers and I am totally recovered.
The precious orphans we are working with had an incredible time, playing games, volleyball, soccer, singing, dancing and even killed a goat for their dinner. (Goats are only eaten on special occasions.) This was a special occasion; God heard their prayers for me and for them! This was a special treat for every child. I only wish I could have been there to celebrate WITH them!
