Cindy Cunningham (President/Executive Director)

Cindy is the founding and acting Director of VOH. She has dedicated 30 years to Christian ministry, including working for Youth for Christ and Josh McDowell Ministry. Cindy spends a month in Uganda 2-3 times per year. She also speaks across the US to churches, organizations and supporters. She leads the overall vision/mission and manages the VOH home office.

Pat Roddy (Chair)

Pat worked in project management, proposal development and sales within IBM for 21 years.  He serves on the VOH grants committee, researching new resources.  His daughter has been serving in Uganda as a VOH intern the last two years.  Since traveling to Uganda, Pat describes VOH as “the most tangible instance of the Kingdom of God I have ever seen.  HOPE is the perfect word for what is going on there.”

Bob Caldwell (Treasurer)

Bob is a computer software developer for Oracle Corporation in Austin, Texas. He serves as a deacon at Hays Hills Baptist Church. Bob and his wife frequently share the ministry of VOH through the sale of beads/baskets and Village of Hope children sponsorship opportunities.

Dave Boyce

Dave and his wife are members of Bay Life Church in Florida. He works for a company which creates software for payment processing centers as a Solution Analyst. He enjoys traveling and has been part of several mission trips to East Africa, including leadership training conferences and leading teams to Village of Hope. Dave has special interests in VOH infrastructure and micro-business development.

Janet Matyas

Janet has served on the mission field in Thailand and participated in mission trips around the world. Janet supervised the VOH Beads of Hope from inception until 2015. She often travels with the Director and has traveled numerous times to Uganda in training and supervisory roles. Janet and her husband Tom live in Nashville, Tennesee.

Gary Redmond

Gary has an extensive background in executive management.  Working primarily with business entrepreneurs he provides leadership and direction in growth management.  His involvement with VOH began shortly after inception.  He and his wife are devoted supporters who rejoice in every child saved and given new hope through God’s blessing of the VOH mission.

Trace Jackson (Secretary)

Trace and her husband Jon are avid supporters of VOH. Together, they work on VOH website design and updates, along with being child sponsors. Recently ordained, Trace works at Christ Fellowship McKinney in communications and ministry development. Having been on several Uganda trips, Trace has taught the housemoms/kids how to crochet, knit, budget, and the importance of purity.

Becky Rios

Becky has been in the educational field for 33 years; first teaching music and math, then moving on to the administration side. She has taught all grade levels, K-12, and is currently the principal at North Plains Elementary School in the Hillsboro Oregon School district. Becky is passionate about support VOH. She’s made four mission trips to VOH to work with our teachers and sponsors two VOH orphans.


Karl Cunningham

Karl is a CPA and has owned his firm for over 20 years and brings his skills of finance and accounting to the team. Karl and his wife Becky reside in Mena, Arkansas. He served as an original member of the Board.

Peta Caldwell

Peta is a retired elementary special education teacher and has a passion for her church’s children’s ministry. She and her husband serve as VOH ambassadors, sell VOH beads/baskets/purses and recruit child sponsorships. Peta formerly served as Board Secretary, transitioning to Advisory this term.

Josh & Dorothy McDowell

Josh is the Founder of Josh McDowell Ministry, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ. He travels the globe equipping the church. Josh and Dorothy bring years of global ministry experience to the team. Josh and Dorothy reside in California.

Other US Leadership

Terrie Robinson (Associate Director)

Before joining VOH in 2015, Terrie was the Director of Field Marketing with a national shopping center owner and developer. She has a heart for missions and has participated in mission journeys to both Kenya and Uganda over the past 13 years including multiple trips to Village of Hope. In addition to managerial, logistical and financial oversight, since 2010 Terrie has also coordinated the VOH Child Sponsorship program. She resides in Dallas.
