Safe House - An Intermediate Solution

The Safe House in Gulu is complete and we currently have 19 orphans living in their new home. The beds are made with warm soft blankets, made by ladies in Oregon. The pantry is stocked with vitamins, medicine, clothes, toothbrushes, and food provided by many generous friends from America.

ImageThe children are so happy to be living in their new home. They have moved out of the Refugee camps where they slept on dirt floors with no toilets or running water. Now each child has a bed, food to eat, loving home and they are attending school! They have been so excited to get up each morning and rush to school with anticipation of receiving an education. They have new school uniforms, school supplies and school sweaters! This is a world of difference for them.

We hired two “moms” who will live with them. They are widows who will be trained to parent and counsel the children. When the Village is complete, these children and “moms” will be the first to move into the new permanent homes!

We are excited and thankful to have this project completed!

We need $2,500 per month to provide: food, medical treatment, school fees and uniforms and to pay the “moms”. Please consider helping us as we provide for these precious orphans.
